>Has anyone tried True Norths Internet Anywhere Mail Server... Looks

I recently switched from the True North server to IMail. I had several
problems with it that their tech support was unable to resolve. It may be
fine for a small intranet, but if you are sending any volume of emails
through it you will encounter problems. The most annoying thing about it is
that you can't configure it and just let it run. It doesn't clean up after
itself so it slowly eats up all of your disk space. In order to "clean it",
you must stop and start the email server. I have waited over 45 minutes for
the thing to clean up its disk usage before it comes back online. Even then,
it would not remove all of its old unused files. When I finally wiped it
from system, it was hogging nearly 2 gigabytes of space with NO emails
waiting to be delivered.
My most recent problem was with sending emails to msn.com. Apparently this
is a difficult thing for any mail server, but the TN tech support always put
the problem back on me. I fixed it though - I installed IMail (with the
hotfix).
If it is a real-time status display you want, the TN server has it. You can
see which servers are being contacted and how many messages are waiting. I
wish IMail had something like it - I feel a little lost (the Syslog
interacting with the desktop trick is not sufficient).
The TN server is also very basic - many of things you can do with IMail are
not included.
I guess you get what you pay for....
