What advantage does using a external database offer
over using the imail one ?

Our dialup authenication is databased but If that fails I can change it to allow
anyone to log in while I fix it with a generic profile.

But if the imail ext database fails they can not even get mail at all or even jury
rigged like the
authenication can be. Is that right ?
