Thank for the response Len. On 9/30/01, Len Conrad penned: >>I'm having a problem that when Bind can't connect to a slave, it >>throws a Doc Watson error and stops. > >not enough memory, probably. I think named.exe spawns another copy >of itself for each zone transfer.
I'm using about half of my 1 GB of physical memory. I'd think that would leave plenty. My Performance window in Task manager says I'm using 475 MB out of 2 GB. I preume the 2 GB is including VM. >>I've got a monitoring program that restarts it. However, usually I >>can't stop the service manually after that using either NET STOP or >>the control panel. Is there a command I can use from the command line to get >>Bind to refresh and read the new zone file? > >bindcmd.exe in BIND 8.2.4 causes named to reread the config + zone files. It doesn't do anything when I double click it or run it from the command line. Does it need a switch or something? >> Better yet, is there a way to force the service to stop? > >bindcmd.exe will do that, in normal circumstances. but if NET STOP >doesn't, then I bet named is really screwed up. Need to run 8.2.4, >it had some non-security bugs fixed. I'm running 8.2.4. Guess I'll try re-installing it. -- Bud Schneehagen - Tropical Web Creations _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ ColdFusion Solutions / eCommerce Development [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.twcreations.com/ 954.721.3452 Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
