You're right, we are already in ORBZ db, that's why I take care of this issue at the moment and am looking for a solution.
There are some ISPs that our roaming ppl are using that are blocking relaying if the from or reply adress is not @theirdomain.tld, this even if the mail is sent from their dialup pool IP Addresses range... Now I am testing another solution using qmail+vpopmail and pop(or imap)-before-smtp system on unix. It looks to be the solution, it works with a mysql db for user config storage, roaming users can send mail as long as they identify with pop3 or imail before sending an outgoing mail, and damn all this is free! If you don't takes steps to close your open relay you will get blacklisted, and then your question will be "HELP! How do I get out of the blacklists?" I'm sure there are many on this list that know that lesson, and would advise you against leaving your server configured as an open relay.
