Hoping someone can give me a hand. We are running version 7.04 of Imail
that stores user info in an external SQL database. Our web messaging
interface takes 50seconds to log onto and around 10+ seconds to do anything
inside it. The ODBC connection test works instantly and there is no lag
when doing a ping to the SQL server from the mail server.
The server is a PIII 933 with 512MB of ram, 30 gig hard drive with 3 gig
used. We have about 60 user accounts currently on the machine. The logs do
not show any excessive use and the CPU usage is low.
I set up a second virtual domain on the server that used the imail database
and when loging into that domain the response from the web messaging is
instantaneous so that points me to something to do with the SQL server or
connection to it. Since the ping time is low I suspect it isn't a network
issue between the two machines. Both machines are win2K servers with host
entries for each other in their hosts file. The communication is over TCP
1433 only, all other network libraries are not in use in the SQL setup.
I'm out of ideas and hope someone has seen this before and can point me in
the right direction.
Thanks,
