Hi, ok, here we go, back on the F-Prot/declude bandwagon...
I use both and today a virus got through...or at least it looked like a virus. An email from someone I don't know with a file called start.exe attached. I sent it to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and sure enough..a virus. so I send an email to Scott...was directed to upgrade the F-Prot engine to 3.11a (.def files are updated nightly). Testing revealed all viruses were now getting through. More emails to scott and at 7pm EST (now that's way after the usual 9-5'ers go home) the issue is resolved, the new install of F-Prot re-deposited a .pif file that caused the virus scanner to timeout..... Say what you will...the service alone is worth the price. Thanks Scott for allowing me to not have to worry about this over the weekend. Thanks, Andy Baldwin [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.thumpernet.com 315-282-0020 Friday, November 30, 2001, 4:57:35 PM, you wrote: PN> I know that this is slightly off-topic, but with all of the talk of PN> viruses, I just wanted to put a good word in for a vendor who did right PN> by me today.
