Once you replace the key in the registry do not forget to cycle the
service.....that is you problem.

I thought that would have been the case, but alas...
It seems that for outgoing mail, smtpd32.exe will call smtp32.exe for
delivery regardless of what the \\SendName key specifies.  Only spooled or
internally deliverable messages utilize the key.
