This  doesn't yet tell me whether it's during the local database merge
process or during the SMTP send, or whether the two are separable with
MailKing.  Well,  without  running  MailKing,  maybe  I shouldn't even
wonder,  but  have  you  tried  experimenting  with different database
types?  I  would  think  that reading from, say, a PST would be slower
than reading from DBF, but who knows? And how fast was that connection
to the upstream mail server again?
