This could cause it.  That setting refuses any mail sent from "<>", which 
means all bounce messages, delivery status notifications, etc.  It's very 
likely that the externally forwarded E-mails use "<>".  I wouldn't expect 
that they would get caught using the SMTP Security settings (since I would 
expect them to be delivered by SMTP32.EXE, not through the SMTP daemon), 
but it could account for your problem.
