Scott, I had many problems with the LDAP too. How I fixed it was to go and clean up the file imail\ldap\domain.dta I had many entries repeated in mine and since I installed the system and changed the host name when it was time to go live this file had all bad info in it. Here is all you should have.
[0FFFFFFFF] *pv*=mail.yourdomain.com *rm*= *rh*= *nf*= DomainName=yourdomain.com Where yourdomain.com is your domain name. That did it for me.
