Dan, Mike,

Moving to CDO Library requires a familiarity with the Outlook object
model, and is considerably more complex to program (meaning that the
user acceptance cost of moving to it might well exceed that of a
third-party ASP component.) It does, however, allow access to an
incredible amount of functionality, like automatic storage and HTML
rendering of Calendar and Inbox data. Look up "CDO Library SDK" at
microsoft.com and you'll get it all in-depth.

An alternative which preserves ease-of-use while adding a layer of
security and trackability is to move use CDO for Windows 2000 (a.k.a.
CDOSYS), which supports SMTP AUTH and is positioned as the successor
to CDONTS (of course, requires Win2K).

Sandy

P.S. Dan, was the offender using CDONTS after all?
