>Hi - Really getting frustrated with all the returned "unknown users" - >someone suggested that it could be a result of anti-spamming filters -
Yes, it could be. You can just check your IMail logs to see the exact reason for the "unknown user" message. You are listed in ORDB (and NJABL, which isn't commonly used), which could account for the problem. >I have never used one of those, does anyone have an idea of how they work? Yes. They check the IP address of your mail server (or occasionally your domain name) against a list of "bad" IPs, and if your mail server is listed, the mail doesn't get delivered (or is bounced, or a warning is added, etc.). The various lists (see http://www.declude.com/junkmail/support/ip4r.htm ) have different reasons for listing IPs; some list IPs that have sent spam recently, others list any open relays (mail servers that are likely to send spam, but normally just send legitimate mail). -Scott --- Declude: Anti-virus, Anti-spam and Anti-hijacking solutions for IMail. http://www.declude.com --- [This E-mail was scanned for viruses by Declude Virus (http://www.declude.com)] Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
