This is what ipswitch support told me, verbatim:

The -l switch does not need to be used if you only wish to delete non-log
files.

So, based on that I did not use the -l script.... and it deleted all my log
files... very interesting

: I made a copy of my spool folder and ran that same command ... and got the
: same results you did. I then issued the following command: isplcln -n
5 -l
: 0 and got the desired results. It didn't touch any log files.
Interesting.

:
: ok, fine... but what happened? I ran "isplcln -n 5" from the imail
: directory and it not only deleted a bunch of old spool files, it also
: deleted the last 19 days of log files. I asked the ipswitch tech people
if
: doing this exact command would leave the log files and they told me it
: would, so i ran it... now the files are gone. granted, i should have
tested
: first... and i have backups of all but todays, but i think that there is
: either a problem with this program or with the tech support. I would just
: like to know where the problem is so that i can use this program to delete
: old spool files...
