Greetings all, I'm currently running IMail 6.06 on NT4S. I want to be able to direct mail for a non-local e-mail domain to a specific IP address rather than what IMail finds using DNS and MX records for the non-local e-mail domain. I've tried entering a record in the local IMail server 'hosts' file to associate the hostname of the only MX record for the non-local e-mail domain to the IP address I wanted the mail to be directed to without success. It looks like IMail doesn't check its 'hosts' file when resolving records.
Note that the IMail server is not trying to relay incoming e-mail for the non-local e-mail domain but only trying to direct outgoing mail from local users to the right external server. This requirement arose because both my IMail server and this other non-IMail mail server are behind the same firewall. The IP address for the MX record for the other mail server is bound to the outside interface of the firewall and the IMail server cannot access it due to limitations on the firewall. I do know the internal private IP address of the other mail server which the MX record IP address NATs to through the firwall.
