Scott,
You are the greatest! I beat my head against a wall for about 4 hours
yesterday trying to figure out why the virus filter was not working. I
didn't even think that the Netshield installer would have put the scan.exe
in some other random location. I did a search and you are right. Thanks
for your help!

Philip

That is the problem. Scan32.exe is a user-guided "Point and Click" Windows
program, whereas scan.exe is a command line scanner that can be used by an
automated program such as Declude. Scan32.exe is going to expect that you
will be there to tell it what to do, which will take a lot of time if you
have to point and click for every E-mail that comes in.

If you take a look at your Declude Virus log file, you will likely see
error messages saying that the Scan32.exe program never ended and that
Declude terminated the process. That's because when Declude starts
scan32.exe, it expects that you will tell it what to do, so it just happily
sits forever until Declude terminates it.

Some versions of VirusScan will work on NT4 Server (specifically, the
"MultiPlatform" version, that is part of the "VirusScan Security
Suite"). However, since you have NetShield, you might as well use it.

First, I would recommend re-installing NetShield, doing a "Full Install"
(otherwise, it may not install the scan.exe file).

If that doesn't seem to work, I would recommend using Windows Explorer to
search for the scan.exe file -- NetShield may have put it in a different
directory than the one you told it to install to.

If you are still having troubles, feel free to E-mail me directly and I can
work with you to figure out what is wrong.
