Len, These guys are right, this can happen. I managed to get my virtual/real host config screwed up one of my boxes a few days ago and the same thing started happening. I've never seen it spontaneously happen, though--I was definitely manipulating something in the GUI or Registry right before.
The exact error message is quite bizarre, as you will soon see! At any rate, deleting and rebuilding my hosts (granted, only 5 on that machine) solved the problem. > 03:02 18:59 SMTPD(00350656) [127.0.0.1] mail from:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > 03:02 18:59 SMTPD(00350656) [127.0.0.1] rcpt to:swhitema > 03:02 18:59 SMTPD(00350656) [127.0.0.1] C:\IMail\spool\D675f656.SMD 130 > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) processing C:\IMail\spool\Q675f656.SMD > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) ERR BSNYC-GW02.broadleaf.net public mailbox size too >large (37-204) > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) Trying mail.megapathdsl.net (1) > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) Connect mail.megapathdsl.net [66.80.60.20:25] (1) > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) 220 front2.mail.megapathdsl.net ESMTP MegaPath Networks >3.5.3 is glad to see you! > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) >EHLO BSNYC-GW02.broadleaf.net > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) 250-front2.mail.megapathdsl.net we trust you >BSNYC-GW02.broadleaf.net > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) 250-HELP > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) 250-PIPELINING > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) 250-ETRN > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) 250-DSN > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) 250-TURN > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) 250-ATRN > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) 250-SIZE 31457280 > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) 250-STARTTLS > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) 250 EHLO > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) >MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) 250 [EMAIL PROTECTED] sender accepted > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) >QUIT > 03:02 18:59 SMTP-(0000083C) 221 front2.mail.megapathdsl.net SMTP closing connection Note mail.megapathdsl.net is the remote gateway, swhitema obviously local user.
