I  anticipate that a database dump and bcp reload would be sufficient,
given  our planned architecture. In order to throttle utilization down
for an active server, a DTS package might need to be provided.

See  my most recent benchmark. The improvements you'd see would depend
a lot on how well you've optimized your current SQL installation. This
includes indexing, memory management, client/server interconnect, etc.
Could be 10x, could be 100x.

No,  only  one  place, but it is true that this breaks Imail's default
