Re: Anybody having problems with excite.com Well, there's a few theories than I'm investigating. I'm an "internalizer" so I suspect my own stuff first before pointing fingers. Among the things I've been investigating:
1) Return path latency between my network and theirs, with an emphasis on determining if there's something in my config that's possibly refusing packets/dropping packets 2) Speed of the DNS servers. The domains I'm hosting use BulkRegister, and I get the feeling (an opinion based on going to the dnsstuff.com page) that the typical service from bulkregister is poisoned/marginal in order to make customers want to pony up for their "deluxe" service. On the DNS speed test I was getting a consistent F with lookups to their servers crawling in at nearly 2700ms. But since that's not really the basis for the error it's just a sore point that will probably have me setting up a couple more DNS servers (waaaaaa!). 3) Did a control install (with the eval copy of 7.06) on another machine in the pool and setup another domain that wasn't listed previously as having mail...and got the same behavior, "Unknown user" error from the remote mail server(excite). 4) I'm going to be hunting for snafu's in the filespace the server uses, clean all the cruft out, check for anything that's gone belly-up in the thread pool. 5) Waiting for them to answer their emails about this problem. ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: "Harlan Young" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Reply-To: "Harlan Young" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Thu, 21 Mar 2002 10:37:12 -0600 >Good Morning, > >We're have problems sending to ezcite customers too.
