"DNS and BIND" from O'Reilly - I've found this to be a priceless reference
for setting BIND up.  The latest version covers both 8 and 9 I believe.

And you're right, with BIND, except for a few path changes,
Win32<->Linux<->BSD<->whatever is pretty much the same, so you can do it on
whatever is your favorite OS, then change your mind if you want with a
minimal learning curve.
