> I have a user that I just switched from Outlook Express as his mail
client to Outlook 2000. He has almost 2 gigs of email stored on his
machine which he claims he needs to store and have quick access to and OE
just doesn't handle large email storage very efficiently. His gripe now is
that when he goes to send an email, Outlook 2000 doesn't auto complete the
email address in the "To:" field like OE did. I found how to use the
"Check Names" button on the toolbar but he doesn't want to use this extra
step to send email (he is a VERY BUSY man, cough cough).

I use Outlook 2000, and while it doesn't "auto-complete" the To: address,
it does look up partial matches automatically. For example, to send to
this list, all I have to do is type "ima for" in the To: address, then tab
down to the subject and the body. It takes a second or two for Outlook to
find the match ("IMail Forum") in my Contacts, but when it does, it
replaces the To: line with that match. If there is more than one match, a
red squiggly line appears under the partial name, and a right click lets
me choose which matching Contact to use. Make sure the feature is turned
on: Tools > Options > Preferences > Email Options > Advanced Email Options
> Automatic Name Checking.
If like this feature *better* than an auto-complete, since it matches on
partial words even if they're entered in the wrong order.
