>We are seeing intermittent Stack Connect Failures in our log files.

That is normal (just so long as they are intermittent). It means that
IMail tried connecting to the remote mailserver, but couldn't.

For example, if our primary and backup mailservers are down right now, and
you try sending us mail, you'll see the "Stack Connect Failure" in the log.

You should have one or more DNS servers that are designed to accept
recursive queries. Normally, your DNS servers that answer authoritatively
for your domains will not accept recursive DNS queries. So it would
normally be best to use your ISP's DNS servers.

The easier (but less thorough) answer is to use whatever DNS servers your
desktops use.

>Also should the DNS servers I have entered into the NT settings be the same
>as the DNS servers entered into Imail?

Normally they should be. IMail needs to look up DNS records for domains
that it does not know about, which is exactly what a normal NT machine
needs to do (for example, to browse to www.yahoo.com).

>Also, what is the general opinon for the optiumum number of name servers to
>have entered into IMAIL (1, 2, or more?)?

Normally 2 should be sufficient. That will allow mail to go out even if
one of them is down, but normally you won't have both DNS servers down.
