I think Len is referring to the record that are in the domain zone files
(e.g., A, MX, CName, PTR, etc.).  Large zone files have lots of records in
them which require more system resources to support.

We have been using it with 1,000's of domains.
Since we offer just straight DNS hosting also.
It creates 1 file for every zone, I am not sure why you are separating
records and domains into 2 separate fields.

well, even MS DNS works with zone files.  zone file format is RFC
specified.
