RFC 821

450 Requested mail action not taken: mailbox unavailable [E.g., mailbox busy]

550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable [E.g., mailbox not 
found, no access]

Certainly, Imail failing to access an external database when receiving a 
msg should return a 4xx (transient failure, try again to deliver the msg 
later), and not 5xx (fatal, don't ever try to deliver the msg here again).
