I've been through the manual and Knowledge Base and haven't been able to locate the information I'm looking for.
We are running IMail 6.06 (Will be upgrading to 7.x soon) and have just completed activation for Postini. For those of you who don't know Postini, we direct our MX records to their servers and they scan inbound email for viruses and spam, block dictionary attacks, mail bombs, etc. It's a very slick service. However, I'd like to if possible redirect messages that come in via SMTP on our IMail server that have not passed through Postini's servers to Postini. All messages that pass through Postini get some "X-postinispam*" headers. Logically, if a message comes in without any "X-postinispam*" headers, it would be redirected to Postini, even if the message has a local destination address. In concept, it sounds pretty simple. However, I've not figured a way to do it purely with IMail. I've been searching and I haven't found any sort of SMTP relay programs that will do this. I could write something, but I'm not at all familiar with the format of the queue control files. I know I can insert a program into the delivery chain prior to SMTP32 being called, but can that program modify the Qxxxxxxx.SMD file to instruct SMTP32 to relay the message to another host instead of delivering the message locally? I think I've come up with a method to avoid the potential of causing a dangerous mail loop. Thoughts, anyone?
