I think there needs to be a KB article entitled rules for dummies!
I would like to write a server wide rule to kill attachments ending in .exe
etc. I can't find anywhere that it says do implement a rule server wide do
this...
Is it possible you can't have a server wide rule?
In any event, I tried to implement a rule on just 1 domain and still nada. I
must be doing something wrong. What a frustrating process! I tried writing
rules and then copying them into the domain directory, I tried writing them
in the admin interface but still the files get thru.
After each change I cycle the smtp service.
Here is a basic rule set as described in the KB articles:
B~name=(".*\.exe"|".*\.scr"|".*\.vbs"|".*\.pif"):NUL
B~name=(.*\.exe|.*\.scr|.*\.vbs|.*\.pif):NUL
I send a .exe attachment and it gets thru. WHy?
ANy help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks,
Dan
