There's that param, and, IIRC, there's also the aspect where it kicks in (refuses mail) when the sender "overwhelms" Imail with "too many" tcp connections. eg, IMGate is capable of sending tons of mail to Imail in parallel tcp sessions (esp if you stop/start the Imail machine and incoming mail queues up in IMGate), so IMGate users have to turn of "deny possible hack attempts", or Imail will refuse mail in a "false positive".
