no, I haven't seen this.  the helo/ehlo hostname needs to there, and needs 
to have A and/or MX records in DNS, but I've not heard of the helo hostname 
being tied to the PTR hostname.

What can be done is that the  ip is reversed to obtain the PTR hostname 
(this needs to be delegated and the PTR needs to exist), which hostname is 
then queried for its A record.

postfix can reject if the ip of the sending MTA gives a PTR hostame which 
does not have a matching A record.  Note that this does not put any 
requirement on what the PRT hostname should be.
