First, expect a post from Len. I will start with the HD.
1 GB 5400RPM HD is not going to cut it in terms of reliability. Popular feeling is to have a minimum of a mirrored set with multi partitions. Separate partition for page file and spool file. I am currently using 2 18 GB SCSI. (Do not mirror the page file. The equal partition on the opposite drive of the page file I use for logs.) If you are going to have a lot of users with unlimited mail box size, you might want to have separate drives for the domain directories. I would definitely upgrade the OS to Windows 2000. Much more stable and reliable. What is your load now as far as CPU and Memory? Bumbling up the memory is a "cheap" way of adding performance. At 6 months with Declude installed you will probably be pushing the limits on the CPU. 16:26 05/24/2002 PDT John Tolmachoff IT Manager, Network Engineer RelianceSoft, Inc. We have a PIII 600 with 384MB PC100 and single 6GB IDE 5400RPM with Win NT 4 and Imail. Currently at 1,300 Imail users on 109 virtuals. We expect to add another 50 domains and 2000 users within the next 6 months. I'm looking for information to support either continuing with what we have until we reach 'X' or good reasons to upgrade.
