Nice try... nav gateway is really a second rate application compared to
declude.. (I currently run nav gateway, declude and imail on the same
server by the way - the only thing I will allow Nav to do any more is
smtp on a port other than port 25 for a few users who have isp's that
block port 25) NAV is much more buggy, tends to cause more server errors
and misses way more viruses than declude. Add to that the total lack of
responsive support from Symantec and you can tell why everybody so
readily endorses Declude.

Believe me if declude caused problems or didn't work I would dump on it
in a heartbeat but it is extremely stable and as up to date as your
virus definitions. It NEVER has caused a problem with the system and
chews up very little resources.

Well in addition to being an Imail users forum it is obvious that this
has
turned into an advertising forum for Declude and F-prot.

I haven't heard any "bad words" about Declude either but it is sure
funny to
read panicked email postings (from non-NAVGW users) when each new virus
pops
up and I sit back and watch as my NAVGW server catches each and every
virus
that has come along.

I have tons bad to say about norton antivirus for gateways. We utilized
it prior to switching to declude. It missed many viruses due to its
skipping email which did not follow prescribed formats(headers formatted
incorrectly etc). There was one virus (can't remember which one now)
for MONTHS that passed through that scanner and Symantec chose not to do
anything about it. Their response to tech support was that the emails
with the virus were not formatted properly and therefore were not
caught... No solutions as to how to cure the problem that the virus
still passed through. We switched to declude and immediately caught
those viruses plus others.

There is no amount of money that would cause me to change back to
Norton's product.. no way.. no how..

Satisfied declude customer..

I Don't recall ever hearing a bad word about Declude, either. In fact,
I
have only heard people rave about it, including myself. And the level
of
support Declude provides to its users is unparalleled, as far as I'm
concerned.

Declude may be less expensive but sometimes cost isn't everything. I
have
only good things to say about Norton Anti-Virus Gateway.

It can run on the same machine, same IP, different ports.

Declude is much more cost-effective.
