Guy, you are confusing NetBEUI (not routable) with NetBIOS (routable via NBT
- NetBIOS Transport or NetBIOS over TCP/IP). NetBIOS is routed over the
following ports:

netbios-ns 137/tcp NETBIOS Name Service
netbios-ns 137/udp NETBIOS Name Service
netbios-dgm 138/tcp NETBIOS Datagram Service
netbios-dgm 138/udp NETBIOS Datagram Service
netbios-ssn 139/tcp NETBIOS Session Service
netbios-ssn 139/udp NETBIOS Session Service
microsoft-ds 445/tcp Microsoft-DS
microsoft-ds 445/udp Microsoft-DS
wins 1512/tcp Microsoft Windows Internet Name Service
wins 1512/udp Microsoft Windows Internet Name Service

If you don't want all of your Windows systems accessible via the Internet,
then these ports should be block both inbound and outbound at your firewall
or gateway router.

And one last thing in an effort to make it clear that what MS suggests
(using the NetBIOS name) is irrelevant: The Internet is not platform (OS)
dependent. Most servers run some flavor of Unix, others the Mac OS, etc. And
this platform independence is made possible by using open standards such as
TCP/IP, not a proprietary MS standard such as NetBIOS which is, by the way,
not even routable :) So, the Internet doesn't care one whit about your
machine's NetBIOS name.

So there :))

Guy
