Have you thought about the cost of having a spammer shut down your
mailserver for a weekend, and the cost of your users not being able to get
some their E-mail (if you are listed in spam databases)?

My suggestion is to E-mail all your users, and tell them they will have to
use "industry standard" authentication in 10 days. 9 days later, send an
E-mail saying there is one day left. Make the change. Hopefully, by this
point about 80% of the people will have done it, and another 15% or so will
quickly after they realize they can't send mail.

>Allowed Address list.

Don't worry about that. SMTP AUTH can be used for anyone who doesn't have
their IP listed.

We are telling you to use "Relay for Addresses" (where the IP authenticates
the user, or they can use SMTP AUTH) or "No mail relay" (everyone uses SMTP
AUTH).

You *will* get blacklisted if you don't use one of those two options. It
will happen.

>Also as far as I know the server meets all requirements for http://ordb.org.

If you are sure, go to http://ordb.org/submit/ and enter your IP. They
will let you know if you are an open relay. However, they will list you if
you are.

Sorry to push you on this issue, but I just want to make sure you know what
you are getting into. A lot of people said "I can't force all my users to
use SMTP AUTH", only to change their minds very quickly when a large spam
attack occurred.

>Now, once again, I ask in a nice way, Is it possible to put comments in the
>Accept.txt file? Thanks! :-)

My guess is no. They specifically say that you can not use spaces, and
since neither E-mail addresses nor IPs include spaces, that would imply
that comments wouldn't be allowed.
