> Will the 2 work together? If I were to purchase the gateway? I don't actually know since I did not test this but running more than one antivirus program on the same computer/server is fraught with possible problems if not done "carefully". Again, scanning the IMail Forum archives will likely result in clarifying this topic.
However -- and if I'm not mistaken -- you are looking for virus protection *before* e-mails arrive at your IMail server. NAVIEG, IMail AntiVirus, IMGate AV, and Declude + some basic DOS command-line scanner is what you want. Having Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition on your mail server would serve the same function as it would for any workstation, i.e., protecting your server from being infected by a virus. There is a distinction to be made here. You want/need to scan e-mail for possible infection and this is a job best done by an SMTP-aware product. Quite apart from this, you may also want to scan your server (seen as a workstation, not a mail server) for possible infection. If you were to use Declude + some command-line scanner -- possibly the copy of Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition that you already have *provided that it has a command-line program that Declude can call* --, then you would not need the expensive NAVIEG at all.
