> Will the 2 work together? If I were to purchase the gateway? Y'all are missing one thing: if you get/got Symantec AntiVirus Enterprise Edition, that suite includes NAVCORP, the an enhanced, server-linkable (for updates and reporting) version of the desktop scanner, as well as NAV for Firewalls, NAV for Gateways, and NAV for lots of other junk. It's all on the same CDs. So, in terms of existing investment, some already have the licenses.
The answer to "Will NAVCORP work like a gateway?" is "No, you would have to license and install the NAV for Gateways component." The answer to "Will NAVCORP's desktop or server components work with Declude?" is "No, due to explicit licensing restrictions." The answer to "Is NAV for Gateways the same as IMail AntiVirus?" is "No, IMail AntiVirus is an implementation of their command-line scanner, SAVCLS, and client/server scanner." The answer to "Is NAVCORP's server-based updating and managed installation cool?" is "Yes, if you have the money." The answer to "Should I get NAV for Gateways, or get Declude?" is "Get Declude." The answer to "If I already have it, should I roll out NAV for Gateways, or get Declude?" is "If you need SMTP AUTH, get Declude. If you like ease of use and management, get Declude. If you're okay without these things, you can roll it out and will likely be satisfied." -Sandy Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
