No.  The problem is that AOL (and some other) users come from constantly 
changing IPs.  IMail's web messaging is able to handle this with the 
"ignore source IP" -- otherwise, the AOL users would have to always come 
from the same IP.

The changing IPs will not affect SMTP or POP3, since those use a single 
TCP/IP connection (unlike web hits, where each web hit uses its one TCP/IP 
connection).  SMTP via AOL isn't safe, but as far as I know POP3 is safe 
(although they may intercept the connections and save copies of the E-mail 
you download).
