We finally went live yesterday with IMail Server. We've been using Eudora Worldmail Server for years. Just a couple of items that have bugged me a little about IMail:
When you email a person whose email is full, it returns a message stating that the message was undeliverable, but doesn't explain that the intended recipient has a full mailbox. Worldmail Server did that much. The autoreply field within the server is defined as Vacation. It would be more clear if it was defined as Autoreply text, or something like that. When setting inbout and outbound rules, it would be nice to be able to run a real test. It would appear that if the rule is set to delete the message, there is no apparent way to log this event. I guess that I could use a local policy and log to event viewer somehow...but haven't had time yet to look deeper. The little test that is provided is good if you manually type your own rules instead of using the built-in function, but all that it does is state whether the result is True or False. Again...a way to see that if you sent an email to an account on the server, and that email contained some text that would cause it to be deleted, per the rule, I'd like to see something somewhere showing that it was deleted. That's just a couple quick thoughts so far. The web interface could use a facelift. If I happen to get bored one day, maybe I'll look at the HTM's and see what I can do with it, but that takes time...which is short these days! Dennis T.
