Title: Message
I do not know if this helps...but I have my user close OE if not OE is setup to dowload all message every ten min.
Which would mean no messages via webmail.
Also if OE is closed then of couse they can only see new messages.  I don not have any useing IMAP but myself and that works fine.  I leave Outlook open it runs my filters but on the road i can still open webmail but everything appers as read or at least the messages moved to other folders do.  Note I have found if you use IMAP and Webmail ALWAYS creat your folders from Outlook.  Oh the other note is users will creat folders in Webmail but want to know why they can't view them from the OE POP account.  I use the explantion of webmail is like going to the PostOffice and reading your mail before it is delivered. And folders in Webmail are postoffice boxs.

Maybe helps  maybe not.

Could it be that when they check email using Outlook that they are not leaving a copy of the mail on the server?

Reply to: Guy Isabel's response to my question:

Users use Outlook CPW for the in-office mailing.  But, when out of the office they use the web messaging.  But, they can only see NEW messages, and not messages that have been read that are already in their inbox. I am running v7.10, and the users are using IE as their web browser.  Hopefully this makes more sense than my original posting

Thank you
