Thanks for replying in detail. I can now see why you prefer having a Web interface to e-mail on your Toshiba handheld. Perhaps someone (Ron?, Ipswitch?) would be willing to develop custom templates if the market clamors for them but addressing different handheld OS -- let's not even mention cell phones -- would certainly not be a trivial task, IMO.
Browser auto-detection is hard enough just to support IE and NS on conventional desktops that auto-detecting Pocket PC 2002, Windows CE/Windows CE.net, Palm OS, etc. would make the browser-detection part of the code bigger than the functional part ;) One could conceivably imagine different sets of templates tailored to each platform but this just spreads the work and effort among multiple projects and development paths. Still, customizing IMail's Web Messaging template to support WAP/WML-enabled handhelds is an interesting project...
