> If I was doing that, this place would be slammed.

I don't know what you mean by "slammed," but if it has anything to do with the time it
takes for a post to show up from this list, OT posts absolutely affect the list,
sucking delivery processes away from others. This is a NOTORIOUSLY slow list, with
turnaround times sometimes between three and eight hours (that's right, some people
don't get your message for a whole day). A large number of off-topic posts might, in
fact, be quite welcome, and the responses more cordial, if the turnaround time of
on-topic posts were not affected (while this post itself might seem to qualify, it is
being sent at a time of day at which it is unlikely to affect urgent IMail issues).

Yes, when off-topic threads run on, they attract the attention of those expecting more
relevant posts or responses, which is frustrating to those of us who want to help
IMailers in need. You fail to realize that "5 posts into" a thread for you may be
when we first receive the initial message! Again, this is a sloooooooow list.
IMail's own IMAILSRV runs it--not very good publicity for the module, but something
you have to deal with.

> It does not matter how long that it takes to get help, as long as you can get help.

I couldn't disagree more. The longer the amount of time it takes to get help from a
given source, the harder you should look for other sources, or to your own
troubleshooting.  For off-topic posts, there are those other sources, by definition;
for on-topic posts, there are none. Hence, though off-topic posts are expected, and
indeed respected, harping on non-IMail issues is denying IMail issues their deserved
share of the thread time on this vendor-sponsored list.

You may be shocked to find that, AFAIR, you are the number-one recipient of negative
responses on this forum for the last couple of years. You've aroused the all-caps ire
of some of the most level-headed power contributors to the forum. Why? As I said in
an earlier message, (a) you don't trim; (b) you don't proofread your own posts for
clarity and formatting; (c) you go off-topic for post after post while IMAILSRV
struggles to keep up; (d) you assume the pose of an expert in areas that you have only
just grasped before our very eyes, then force-feed that expertise into threads in
which it is irrelevant (I know you mean well, but it comes off confusing--while
sucking up more precious list.ipswitch.com delivery processes--much of the time); and
(e) you do a very good impression of somebody who doesn't do his homework first (this
last may not be the case, I understand, but your posting style suggests so).

>As being something of a nescient, to you, As I did not get any negative feedback from
>the ones that did help.

Well, that's self-definitive, I think; I don't know what a "nescient" is, so I can't
say whether I'd take that position or not.

>As the only thing that you have helped me out in period, was pissing me off enough to
>find out that I was not hosting my own DNS.

Yes, I continued to remind you that you were not controlling your DNS, and thus your
advice about hosting one's own DNS was a kettle/pot situation. And this is the thanks
I get? :))

> And now I can now help others in there, without putting up with your
> foolish remarks on that subject again, as well.

Consulting the archives shows that my remarks were nothing more than setting you
straight about your setup before you went on about how foolproof it was. If you can't
take that kind of takedown, you'd better do more double-checking.

> So until you decide to help, instead of ridicule. Please stay of it.

Nah, I don't think so. It's more fun this way.
