A note on the logging. Yes, I agree it would be nice to have more
options for the log files. Here is what I have done to get around the
issue.

Sending logs to a syslog server (www.winsyslog.com - nice product for a
good price). You could stop right there and have the syslog server log
to a file anywhere with any name. However, I am sending the logs to SQL
(feature of winsyslog) and wrote a simple ASP page to view, search,
manage the records. The syslog also gives you the ability to filter for
certain messages and perform different actions based on that filter.
Check it out for yourself.

No, I am not affiliated with winsyslog; I'm sure there are other good
ones out there.

This works well for me and thought it might help others as well.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Ask and you shall receive (we'll we might get
lucky) - My Imail wish list

SMTP - This cylinder needs some serious engine work. How about adding a
little nitrous to this daemon? (Gearhead talkin, basically Imail's smtp
performance it about as good as the performance of a GEO Metro. A real
tire
smoker!)

SMTP part 2 - Why is everything thrown into one folder with logfiles and
all? Anyone at Ipswitch ever hear of sub folders? Why don't we
separate incoming messages from outgoing messages etc.etc.. I bet this
would give a boost to Imail's smtp performance.

Logging - Again why is everything thrown into the spool folder? Give us
an option for each service to choose where to put the logs and while
your at it give us the option on what to name the logs. I know there
are some "workarounds" out there but this should be an option in Imail.

Sound reasonable. What do you think?
