FYI, that's not uncommon.

And, if you think *is* the cause, you should be very scared right 
now.  Because if a hacker performed a port scan on your network, and then 
got a sniffer installed -- that means they broke into one of your computers.

That's possible, but very few spammers go to that much effort when it is 
easy to find an open relay to abuse.

Did your logs show that the spammer was indeed using one of your 
accounts?  Did you check to see which one?
