IMail's broken then. <G>
If IMail sees an E-mail addressed to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]", it should
perform a DNS lookup on "64.171.65.17" to determine where to send it -- and
the root servers will respond authoritatively that there is no TLD
"17". RFC821 covers this.
