I  would  use  the  term "primary," still--since the other address has
precedence   in   practice   (though   you   could  couch  it  as  the
"administrative" address).

I  must  say  that this isn't a very common application, so it's not a
gap in IMail exactly. For mailing lists, yes; for webmail, no.

If  you  wanted to build it, it would be somewhat straightforward: (a)
create  the  account  and  immediately  disable  it;  (b)  record  the
requested  address/administrative address pair in a text file or right
in  your  database;  and  (c)  send  a  confirmation  message  to  the
administrative  address from a Program Alias that is set up to process
responses  by  enabling  the  requested  address  corresponding to any
incoming message's From: address (after checking for some "tag" in the
subject line, a simple hash or suchlike).
