We call it backup because they are moving their email to our services
and away from the other. And Human Kind calls it a backup address in
their EZSignup package for Imail. If you are running a free email
service like us, then this supercedes needs for listserver screening.
We used the Human Kind EZSignup and had every spammer under the sun
showing up. So the need for this is very urgently real and much more
prevailing for us than listserver confirmation.

Thanks,
