Okay the provider got back to us.
smtp needs to be set to 65.83.70.55 (smtp.bbntelecom.us)
so being I have never done this part before I want to insure I do it right. Enough
headaches so far and not enjoying the turkey day.

I could not find in the imail anywhere to specify this so assume its a dns setup.

they said to put into the dns records for the domains we have to:
smtp in cname smto.bbntelecom.us.

This would mean we set the outgoing in outlook to smtp.domain.com and it would sent to
the bbn smtp server

but shouldn't there be a mx and a record instead ?

I hate this visp stuff. wish we could stay hardware based.

thanks
mark
