I have been getting complaints about sporadic timeouts when trying to pop the server. When viewing the logs it seems during normal business hours there are an average of 1600 processes running (I took a sample of the log files from the top of the hour for 6 hours ...Noon-6pm EST)...the processes of course dropped dramatically (about 5-600 processes) after hours
My question is: What is a normal # of processes running that would not overload the server? I am running IMail v7.13 on a Win 2k v5.0.2195 SP 3 dual 1.3GHz pent 4 and 1GB RAM. I have about 720 virtual hosts with approximately 7500 users. It seems to me that I have plenty of hardware to handle this load...has anyone else experienced these issues?
