OK, I've read all the posts related to this problems and have come to the conclusion that Imail simply is not compatible with WIN2K.
I migrated from a single NT4 with a P3 and an Intel Pro 100 (which was extremely fast and reliable for all my clients) to an Intel server with dual Xeons and dual gigabit NICs and WIN2k. Performance was lousy, customers are unhappy, etc... To resolve (after reading all the posts) 1) I disable the internal NICs at the bios level, installed the Intel pro 100 card I was using under NT. ***Performance still was very poor. 2) Removed the Intel PRO 100 card and replaced it with a brand new 3COM 3c905ctx card. ***Performance still was very poor. Everything else works on the server very fast and reliably. The only thing that does not is IMAIL!! I've ruled out the network cards - I feel it can only be one thing... IMAIL does not work with win2k. Try the web interface on an account that has 10 messages, no problem. Try it on an account that has a 100 or more and you are left hanging for tens of seconds.
