Declude Hijack will prevent unauthorized outgoing E-mail (although it won't help with the dictionary attacks, as those are incoming E-mails).I'm not trying to shill for your products, but wouldn't Declude HiJack deal with many of his issues?
However, we normally recommend Declude Hijack in situations where mailservers are locked down (only authorized users can send out mail, so it isn't an open relay), but our customers are concerned that people who have legitimate access to the mailserver may send bulk E-mail (for example, most ISPs would be in this situation, as well as free E-mail providers). Although it can be run on an open relay (and it will catch virtually all spam sent through it), the mailserver will still be an open relay (and will have a very hard time staying out of spam databases, as single E-mail probes will usually be allowed through).
In this case, although Declude Hijack would act as a 'quick fix' to the problem (as it will catch virtually all spam sent through an open relay), it is very important to determine why the spam is being relayed in the first place.
