Dennis,

Regarding your last sentence, the Readme.txt file for imailsrv2.pl states:

-----
# Ipswitch Mailing List Readme File
# Copyright (C) 1999 Ipswitch, Inc.
#
# Ipswitch Inc, grants any valid licensee of IMail for Windows NT the right
# to modify this source and use the modified version of software generated
# from the source with any implementation of IMail for Windows NT.
#
# NOTE: The information in this file is for experienced Perl developers
# to use to extend the capabilities of IMail Server. It is beyond
# the scope of this document and Ipswitch technical support to provide any
# guidance on writing Perl scripts.
-----

It thus seems to me that Ipswitch does "support" this helper app but not to
the extent of helping IMail Server administrators to learn/debug Perl
scripts, which is reasonable.

However, from past experience -- and this is not meant as an indictment --,
Ipswitch's discussion list subscribing form:

http://www.ipswitch.com/Support//mailing-lists.html

which uses imailsrv2.pl has had its share of problems. I, for one, have
experienced many problems trying to change mode from Digest to Standard and
trying to unsubscribe (N.B. You first need to set Standard mode before
unsubscribing but even when playing by this rule, quite a few members of the
IMail Forum have expressed frustration at being unable to unsubscribe using
this form.) Speaking for myself only, I simply send e-mail to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] with the proper commands. This never failed me. I
am thus lead to believe that imailsrv2.pl *may* have intrinsic problems;
I'll be happy to stand corrected.

Roger,

I appreciate the suggestion, and I may have to go that route. Problem is
that I've disabled ASP on my webserver completely for security purposes. I
will have to undo those changes to use the tools you are recommending.

As for the PERL script, it only has a problem if you pass it variables. If
you pass it nothing, it runs fine. Sure would be nice if Ipswitch supported
this thing!!

Thanks,
Dennis Schroeder
