I wanted to add something to my earlier message. I set up my own email account under one of the domains we are trying to move, moved the domain, stop/restarted imail services and I found this in my log entries after trying a send/receive from my outlook:

03:14 16:53 POP3D  (0000092C) Parse error 5, check locks, multiple accesses for dave domain.com
03:14 16:53 POP3D  (0000092c) connection aborted

To get this, all i've done is change the drive letter for the domain in imail administrator.

In outlook, we get a strange error as well:

There was a problem logging onto your mail server.  Your User Name or Password was rejected.  Server Response: '-ERR [IN-USE] failed to lock or parse or multiple access'. (Account: 'mail.domain.com', POP3 Server: 'mail.domain.com', Error Number 0x800ccc92

We know the passwords are correct, we've retyped them several times on both server and client sides.

Again, thanks to anyone that can help shed some light on this.

Subject: [IMail Forum] moving domain to another drive

Greetings Everyone,

I see in the KB the following article that describes moving virtual domains to another drive:

http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-19990629-DM01.htm

However, when i do move to a new drive, users can no longer recieve email.  They can send just fine.  When they do try to receive, the email client times out trying to verify the password, even if they retype it over and over.  If i change the drive letter back to the original drive, then they can receive mail once again.

Isn't the password for users stored in the registry?  how does the drive letter of the path to the users directory affect the password?

Any Help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

David Dresler
