Hi all, In the Imail Users guide I've found the following for SMTP RFCs supported:
"RFC 2222 SMTP Service Extension for Authentication. IMail Server supports PLAIN, LOGIN, and CRAM-MD5" See: www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/guide/imailug7.1/Chapter%208%20smtp2.html However my Imailserver (ver 7.13) responds with: 220 SMTP-Service - Welcome! X1 ehlo example.com 250-mail.example2.com says hello 250-SIZE 10000000 250-8BITMIME 250-DSN 250-ETRN 250-AUTH LOGIN CRAM-MD5 250-AUTH=LOGIN 250 EXPN As you can see there is only LOGIN and CRAM-MD5 The problem is that there is a programmer coding something that sends out email notifications. He states his program has worked well for over a year. We've switched to Imail ver 7.1 on the first days of this year. In the last weeks his programm was not more able to send out messages to non local recipients. The question: Any idea's what can be changed? Is there a simple way to test the different authentication methods? (at least if PLAIN is working) Is there some way to de/activate the different authentication methods? Whats the difference between PLAIN and LOGIN?
